Popular car shopping and research site Edmunds recently wrapped up a year-long competition of midsize trucks, and the Ford Ranger came out as the winner. The competition was between the Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado, and Toyota Tacoma.

Ranger vs. the Competition

As mentioned, this competition was between three popular compact trucks near Arcadia: the Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado, and Toyota Tacoma. All three have their highlights, but only one could come out on top.

The Chevy Colorado came in third place. With a high-output turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a ton of utility such as side steps, a secret compartment in the tailgate, and intuitive technology, the Colorado is a great pick near Holmen. However, it fell behind both the Ford and Toyota; it offered more hard plastics and was less durable.

The Toyota Tacoma took second place after dominating the midsize truck class for nearly a decade. It held up better than the Colorado over a year, and the seats were very supportive and comfortable. The interior was a significant improvement over the Chevy's.

Why the Ford Ranger is a Winner

However, the Ford Ranger got the edge over the Toyota, mainly due to a lack of weaknesses near Independence. The Ford Ranger does most everything competently, without the fear that it may not last. One of the biggest areas it stands out is its technology setup; there is a giant, easy-to-use touchscreen and a great balance of digital and physical controls. The Ranger also has the best in-cabin storage, among other highlights near Winona
